Itinerary Description of (Ang-Intro-2D):
In the morning, we start with going to Angkor Thom city, founded in 12th century by king Jayavarman VII and remained the capital until 17th century. At this city, you will visit the most well-preserved gate amongst all the fives, then continue to the peaceful smiling faced tower temple of Bayon, Terrace of Elephants, the Leper king terrace, the ancient royal palace, Phimeanakas, a group of small laterite temples so-called Prasat Suor Prat and the lonely temple of Preah Palelay. After a break for lunch, drive into the real jungle to whisper in the quiet temple of Ta nei. Then it will be time for you to stroll around the tourist-wish-to-see jungle temple, namely Ta Prhom, overgrown by huge tree monsters with snake-like-roots, which is featured in Tomb Raider movie. Before getting back to the town, we will come across a 10th century Kravan temple built of brick decorated with scene about life of god of protection Vishnu.
In the morning, we head to the active pilgrimage site of Angkor Wat, the biggest Hindu temple in the world to enjoy with the longest lively carving of more than 2000 meters long by 2 meters high, excluding relief on ceiling and hundreds of roof supporting pillars. After a short trekking through trees in Angkor Wat complex, we will visit the 10th century Pre Rup temple, once believed to be the king crematorium site, and the East Mebon temple built on the island in the middle of early 10th century reservoir, adorned with elephant statues which some of them remain in great condition. After lunch, we are getting into the amazing pink sand stone temple of Banteay Srei that has the most well-preserved carvings and also the only shrine decorated with the deepest bas-relief amongst all temples in Cambodia. On the way back, we will enjoy with the unique landscape of country side along the way and you'll have a chance to learn how to make palm sugar from a local village until we get to the peaceful ruin of Banteay Samre temple where we will wander around the Hindu and Buddhist temple with an opportunity to have an interesting chat with some primary school children.
